Anton Esterhuyse was born in Kuruman and has been the music leader in the Dutch Reform Church Universitas in Bloemfontein since 2001. Besides being a pianist, arranger and composer, he also plays the flute and pan flute, as well as being a music director. His compositions include interesting combinations like, his Orrelfantasie for two organs and four players, Triangulum for organ, piano and four kettle drums, and Unibrom for nine motorcycles and an orchestra! A highlight for him was his performance with Rina Hugo, the Bloemfontein Children’s Choir and Unimus for which he directed and arranged all the music, as well as Coenie & Lucas in Simfonie during which Coenie de Villiers and the late Lucas Maree performed their compositions with a symphonic orchestra. As from January 2014 he is the accompanist of the choir. Anton is dong most of the arrangements of the music for the choir and a highlight for 2015 was his excellent interpretations, arrangements and musical directing of the concert of the choir with Laurika Rauch!
